It’s time to resurrect the Eaglemoss Ghostbusters Ecto-1 build with this first of four rescue kits. A version of the front plate with the full border is also available if you would prefer it to look ‘right’. Why is the border cropped on this design? Whilst it’s difficult to see, the original ECTO-1 licence plate in Ghostbusters does actually have a full border surround, but is part-hidden on the top and left sides behind the chrome licence plate surround. Similar to the Eaglemoss plate, you may think, but together with other design and colour corrections, this plate will allow you to correctly angle and position it on the front of the car, into the top-left corner – unlike the plate provided with the model which is fixed incorrectly and permanently into the centre of the licence plate surround. The front plate, with its cropped left and top border, imitates how the plate appears in the iconic Ghostbusters scene where the Ecto-1 is first revealed. Each rail is hand-painted, highly detailed and lightly weathered accurately matching the steel rails seen in the cargo area of the real Ecto-1. Made from solid metal, these Gurney floor rails replace the plastic parts supplied with the model.
